The Maze Runner

Thomas: Thomas is the main character in all of the books, so the actor that plays him has to be absolutely perfect for the role. Here is a list of actors that I could picture playing Thomas.

First off, the first actor that I thought of when I started reading this book is Shane Harper. But you may know as Spencer Walsh on the Disney sitcom Good Luck Charlie. He's only 19, so he could pull off 16 year-old Thomas. I would be very excited if he got casted as Thomas. He's also a fantastic singer.

I picture Thomas as having darker, and wavy hair. And I think that Graham Phillips encircles that completely. He is also 19 years old, and is known as a main character in the critically acclaimed show The Good Wife. I just think he looks really sweet and likable, which is very important. Did I mention he is adorable?

Newt: Newt is known for being kind, and very likable. He is also one of Thomas's best friends throughout the series. He is characterized as having blond hair, and a slight limp. Here is a list of some of the actors that I would like to see play him.

One of the actors that I think would be great for newt is Brett Davern. In his early 20's, he is most well known for his role as Jake in the hit MTV show Awkward. I think he looks so likable, like you just want to go up and talk to him. What do you think?

Another actor that I think would be great for the role of Newt, is Chord Overstreet. At 23, he is not only absolutely gorgeous, but he is an extremely talented actor. He is well known as Sam Evans on the hit FOX show Glee. He would be really great for the role.

Minho: In the book, Mihno is described as an asian, who is the keeper of the runner, so he has to be fit. One of the first actors that came to mind is Booboo Stewart. At 18, he is most well-known for his role in the Twilight movies. But I think that this will be a great opportunity for him to be a front-runner. Not only is he of native-american descent, but his mother is of chinese, korean, and japanese descent.

Gally: When you think of Gally, usually the first things that come to mind are evil, angry, and kind of crazy. The actor that plays him doesn't have to be like that in reality, but they really have to be able to pull it off. 

Gally: One of the actors I think could encircle the roll well is Braeden Lemasters.  He looks really tough to me. Some of his previous work is in Men of a Certain Age, Easy A, and The Stapfather.

Another actor that I think could play Gally, is Ben Winchell. He hasn't been in many popular movies, which might benefit the movie. But he is most recognizable in The Pregnancy Pact.

Even though Gally is described as kind of nimble and weak. I seriously think that Michael Trevino deserves to be on this. He is absolutely amazing in The Vampire Diaries, and even though he also is older, I think he could pull off Gally. He could really make the role amazing.

Power of Six (Book 2)

Marina: For all of you that have seen I Am Number Four, and loved it just as much as I did. I bet that you are all wondering who is going to play the new character Marina in The Power of Six. Marina- otherwise known as Number 7- is a teenager around John's age, who lives in a convent in Spain. I think that the absolutely perfect character for Marina is Nina Dobrev. She is most well-known as both Elena and Catherine in The Vampire Diaries. She is also playing Candace, in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, co-starring Logan Lerman, and Emma Watson. She is an amazing actress, and I really think that she will take this movie from great to fantastic. What do you think?

Catching Fire (Book 2)

 Coin: Ok, Let me just cut to the chase. Who do we all immediatly think of, of  someone who is older but still pretty bad-a**? Yep, Sigourney Weaver!!!! Coin's character in the book is brought up to be tuff, in control, and pretty all-around awesome. And I think that Sigourney completely entitles every aspect of that. I would be completely shocked if they didnt even consider her for the film. Who wouldnt? Some of her previous work is Holes, Avatar, and (hello!) the Alien films. Did I mention she has been nominated for 3 Oscar Awards!! I think the director would be completely stupid blind if he didnt at least consider for the part of Coin.

Catching Fire (Book 2)

Bonnie: Bonnie is a around 17 year-old girl that escapes her district with Twill to go to District 13. On their journey to find District 13, they run into one Ms. Katniss Everdeen. Even though their parts arent huge, they still start to cause a HUGE chain of events in Katniss' mind. I suggested this 18 year-old actress for the role of Teresa in The Maze Runner, but I think that she will work well for this character too. Her name is Freya Tingley.  Do you agree?

Teresa: I was thinking of other actors that I think could play Teresa, I know I previously thought about Annasophia Robb, and I still think she would be great. But mabye they are thinking about going more of the non A-list route. I came across an austrailian actress, and I was suprised by how similar she was to how I pictured Teresa. Her name is Freya Tingley. She is 18 years old, and even though she is a little young, I still think she could pull off the 16 year-old Teresa. All that she would need to be perfect for the role is bright blue contacts, and an American accent, which I saw her pull off perfectly in a video clip. All that she would need is a hell  of a lot of confidence to be one of the main characters in a HUGE movie franchise. Please comment and tell me what you think.

Cecelia: Cecelia is one of the smaller parts, but that doesnt diminish the talent of which actress that should play her. In Catching Fire, Cecelia was the District 8 tribute. Her previous Hunger Games is unmentioned, but I think that it's most likely between the 50th and 58th annual Hunger Games. It was also mentioned that she had a sweet and good-natured personality, and she was a mother of three. When I think of a motherly actress, I automatically think of Jessica Chastain. If any of you have seen The Tree of Life, you know exactly what I am talking about. But you might know her better from The Help. I think that she would really be great for the part.

Mags: I am so excited to see Catching Fire! And one the characters that I am especially looking forward to is Mags. Even though she doesnt have a big part, she certainly makes a statement when she sacrifices herself to save the rest of the group. In the book, Mags's described as being substantially older than the rest of the group. When you thought of who should play this part, did anyone else think of Peter Parker aunt. I did!! I think that Rosemary Harris will be perfect for this role. Yah?

 Mags: Mags is a hard character to find an actress to portray her. Since she is substantially older, our minds immediatly wonder to Betty White. I think that she is brilliant, but I think that she should stick to more comedic roles. For the role of Mags, I think that the woman that plays her should be more under the radar. Someone that hasnt been front and center. Im still thinking about who I think should plays Mags. Any suggestions?

Annie: Known as the true love of one Mr.  Finnick Odair- Alex Pettyfer (wink wink)-, also known as the winner of the 70th Hunger Games. I've heard rumors of actresses like Zooey Deschanel  flying around. But personally, I think that she is a little old for the role. Another actress that I heard about, was one that is growing on me, and now I think that she will be great for the role. Elizabeth Olsen!!!!! Her most well-known recent work Silent House, but she is more well known as the younger sister of Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen. At 23, I think that this will be a HUGE step in her career, and I think that she will do the role of Annie Cresta justice. Do you?

Johanna: I just remembered that Johanna is described as having dark-eyes, and short hair. And I pretty much chose the exact opposite with Teresa Palmer. When I think of Johanna, I think of her being really sharp with her words. And what is one specific actress that has pretty much smart-mouthed every other character on her hit TV show? Naya Rivera!!!!!! She's 25, which would also work for playing Johanna!!! I think that it would be great for her career. Do you think she would be a good Johanna?

 Johanna: Johanna is known for being a kind-of bad-a** character. The person who plays her needs to naturally be very strong, and knows how to look angry. The first person I immediatly thought of was Teresa Palmer. You may know her as Number 6 from I Am Number Four. I think that she would be PERFECT for this role, she is exactly who I pictured when I was reading the book. She's 26 years old, and I think she is around the perfect age for playing Johanna. What do you guys think?

Finnick: Since The Hunger Games was a HUGE success, now people are starting to think about who is going to play the new characters in Catching Fire. And one of the most talked-about part is the role of Finnick Odair. There are rumors going around that some actors want to play him. But I think the one that would be perfect for the part is Alex Pettyfer. Finnick is supposed to be older, which I think Alex pulls off. And he needs to be absolutely gorgeous. And well, have you seen Alex lately!!

Gally: Gally is known for being crazy, and overly angry all of the time. The book didnt really give away any physical traits besides being kind of weak, and always looking angry. And who does everybody think of as the villian? Draco Malfoy!!!! I think that Tom Felton could really do the character justice and then some. He's 24, but looks a lot younger than that. What do you think?

    Teresa: The last couple of days, I have been thinking about some actresses that I would like to play Teresa in the Maze Runner series. One of the actresses that came to mind was Annasophia Robb. She's only  18, and I think she could fit Teresa's character age-wise. Another reason for me choosing her, is the she has natural big, blue eyes, which is how Teresa is described in the book. Lastly, the hair.... I know it's not jet black, but that is what hair dye is for. Personally, I think she could pull it off. What do you think? P.S., I think she would look great with any of the boys I think should play Thomas. She has worked with both Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Teribithia), and Jeremy Sumpter (Soul Surfer). So does that mean it's Logan Lerman's turn?

        Now that I think about it, another actor that I could see playing Thomas is the uber-adorable Logan Lerman. I know, I know, he plays Percy Jackson in the Lightning Thief series. But I think that this role will suit him more comfortably. And he's only 20!!!!

        Fantasy: The Maze Runner

Ok, so I bet some of you have heard of the Maze Runner trilogy written by James Dashner. And if you haven't, you really need to! I just recently finished reading The Maze Runner, and it captivated me for the two days it took me to read it, and every second since I finished reading it. I also know that the book is being made into a movie that is most likely set to come out sometime in 2013. I am so literally excited for this... so I decided to share who I think would fit the part of the each character.

Thomas: Since Thomas is the main character, the actor who plays him needs to be lovable, but he also needs to be strong, brave, and look young enough to play Thomas. It took me forever to think of an actor that can fit these standards well enough. One of the first actors that came to mind was Josh Hutcherson. At 19, he not only looks young enough to play Thomas. But, well, who doesn't LOVE Josh. Although, the chances of him playing Thomas are diminishing because of him now being cast as the beloved Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games series. Another actor that came to mind was Jeremy Sumpter. Even though he is 23, I think that he still looks young enough to play Thomas. His most recent work was in Soul Surfer (2011).

 Newt: The character Newt is known for being one of the first boys in the Glade, and is also known for being a kind, understanding person towards Thomas. When I started thinking about some of the actors that could play Newt. I knew they had to be blond, comforting, and easy on the eyes. One of the actors that came to mind was Freddie Stroma (left). Even at 25, he still looks young enough to play Newt. He is most known for playing Cormac McLaggan in the more recent Harry Potter films. Another actor that I immediatly thought of was Alex Pettyfer (above). He's only 22, and I could totally see him as Newt. Some of his previous work is John Smith in I am Number Four co-starring Diana Agron (Quinn on Glee), and Kyle in Beastly co-starring Vanessa Hudgens.

Alby: The actor who plays Alby needs to be a leader. I think that Michael B. Jordan could fit those standards perfectly. At age 25, I think that he looks young enough to portray a eighteen year-old. He is most known for being Steve Montgomery in Chronicle, and a character in Friday Night Lights.
